No, the EM700 is a purely mechanical instrument that operates without electricity or batteries. It utilizes fluid mechanics and physical magnification via its inclined column design to deliver real-time, highly sensitive readings.

How do I zero-calibrate the gauge before initial use?

Ensure both pressure ports are open to the atmosphere (vented). First, rotate the zero-adjustment knob counterclockwise until it stops, then turn it clockwise approximately 3 turns to center its adjustment range. After filling with oil, simply turn the knob until the red fluid line aligns perfectly with the zero mark.

What should I do if the pressure exceeds the maximum scale?

The gauge features an integrated overpressure safety reservoir. During sudden pressure surges or overpressure events, the internal design retains the indicating fluid, preventing it from overflowing or spraying out of the housing.

How often does the red indicating oil need to be refilled?

Because the gauge uses a specialized low-volatility red oil, evaporation is minimal. You only need to check the zero position periodically during routine maintenance and top off fluid if the liquid level drops below the adjustable zero range.

Can the EM700 gauge be installed horizontally?

No, the gauge must be mounted vertically on a flat surface. Accurate readings rely on correct alignment, which is easily achieved by checking the integrated spirit level bubble at the bottom right corner of the unit during installation.
